IBM IntelliStation M Pro/IBM PC300XL - 4.2GB FDISK error tip

Symptom:
During installation of OS/2 Warp 4.0 on a 4.2GB IDE hard file, FDISK reports that the hard file size is 63MB.
Problem isolation aids:
This symptom has been confirmed on IDE hardfiles equal to 4.2GB, and may be seen on IDE hardfiles 4.0GB and larger.
Fix:
1. Create a backup copy of the OS/2 Main Installation diskette.
2. Modify the file config.x on the Main Installation diskette as follows:
Change the BASEDEV=IBM1S506.ADD statement to read BASEDEV=IBM1S506.ADD /A:0 /I
3. Move the statement BASEDEV=IBMINT13.I13 so it comes before the BASEDEV=IBM1S506.ADD statement.
4. Create a backup copy of the OS/2 Install Disk 1.
5. Modify the config.x and config.sys files on the OS/2 Install Disk 1 as described in step #2.
Use the modified diskettes to install OS/2.
