TP 770 - External floppy drive not working after attaching to the system after it has booted
Applicable to: World-Wide
SYMPTOM:
The external floppy drive will not function if it is connected while the system is powered on.
SOLUTION:
Run the command PS2 FDD E from a MS-DOS prompt to enable the floppy drive for use externally. By doing this, this will allow the floppy drive to be attached to the ThinkPad after it has been booted and still be recognized by the system.
Note:
By enabling this feature, the swap driver will no longer allow the floppy drive to be swapped in the UltraBay. To disable this feature to allow for swapping in the UltraBay, type in PS2 FDD I from a MS-DOS prompt.
