TP 350 - Mouse pointer disappears in Windows 3.1 after Resume
Applicable to: World-Wide
Description:
Mouse will not work after a resume.
Solution:
This is a known problem, which only occurs if Windows is not set up correctly. The ThinkPad 350 comes with a Diagnostics Diskette, on which there is a file called UINSTALL.EXE. (Click here to obtain the diskette). Running this program copies a file across to the WINDOWS directory called PM_BIOS.386. Afterwards, run SETUP.EXE in the Windows directory, and make sure that "MS-DOS System with APM" is selected, instead of "MS-DOS System" as the machine type. There should then be an additional icon in the Control Panel, called Power, where the APM can be enabled and disabled. APM should be enabled.
