G Series Monitors - New service options
Applicable to: Canada, EMEA, United States
Owners of G40, G41, G50, and G70 monitors that are no longer covered under warranty have a new service option: Independent Service Providers.
Independent Service Providers
US Assemblies and CTi are independent service providers, operating separately from IBM. IBM does not endorse or guarantee these vendors and IBM is not liable for the services or products they provide. US Assemblies or CTi can be contacted directly concerning inquiries about their service prices and options for IBM G40, G41, G50, and G70 monitors.
On July 7, 1998, US Assemblies will be equipped to service G41 and G50 monitors. Beginning August 4, 1998, US Assemblies and CTi will be equipped to service G40, G41, G50, and G70 monitors.

IBM Exchange Only Parts
In addition, IBM will continue to offer exchange service that allows G40, G41, G50, and G70 monitor owners to purchase a Certified Service Part (CSP) replacement monitor from the IBM Parts Order Center. In addition to quality IBM service
parts, one of the major benefits of this service is that, in most cases, the owner will receive a working monitor the following day (except for weekends).

These are the only service options available for owners of G40, G41, G50, and G70 monitors that are no longer covered under warranty. Moreover, no retail servicer is equipped to repair G40, G41, G50, or G70 monitors, so, owners of these monitors should not refer to a retail service center to get these monitors repaired.
Once these service options have been utilized and the monitor has been returned to the owner in good working order, an IBM maintenance agreement can be purchased for that monitor. For information regarding the IBM maintenance agreement call IBM Express Services Marketing at (888) 426-4343.
