TP SelectaDock III - Wake On LAN support
Applicable to: World-Wide
The IBM SelectaDock III is currently the only docking station that supports the Wake On LAN (WOL) feature of some network adapter cards. The cables for use with WOL are provided with the docking station and can be seen at the rear of the docking station when installing an ISA or PCI card. There are two cable connectors. One is a clay brown color with a two pin connector and the other is a three pin white connector.
The IBM PCI Token Ring Adapter with Wake On LAN (P/N 86H1880) and the IBM 10/100 PCI EtherJet Adapter with Wake On LAN (P/N 85H9921) are currently the only two cards supported in this docking station that provide the WOL support (Note: these part numbers are for US and Canada only. Please check with an IBM representative in your country for the correct part number for your area).
Both of the adapters come with WOL cable support as well. However, you do not want to use the cables provided with the network adapters. Instead, use the cables provided with the docking station. For additional information on attaching the cables from the docking station to your IBM network adapter, please refer to page 1-6 of the SelectaDock III User's Guide.
