TP General - How to remove or install the ThinkPad Swappable Hard Disk Drive

This document contains instructions on how to remove or install your ThinkPad's Hard Disk Drive (HDD) for the ThinkPad 355, 360, 750, 755, 760, and 765 series
Installing the HDD:
1. Ensure that the ThinkPad is turned off.
2. Open the LCD, then open the keyboard.
3. Install the hard disk drive into the right most bay. Press the down of the far end of the drive until it snaps into the connector.
4. Lock the wire handle in place.
5. Close the keyboard.
6. If this is a new HDD you will need to FDISK and FORMAT the drive with the desired operating system before you can access the drive, such as Windows 95, or OS/2 Warp.
Removing the HDD:
1. Ensure that the ThinkPad is turned off.
2. Open the LCD, then open the keyboard.
3. Lift the handle on the hard disk drive with the plastic tape (blue), and remove the disk drive.
