IBM IntelliStation E Pro (Type 6893)/IBM PC - 3D Blaster hangs with full hardware acceleration

SYMPTOM:
After installing a Creative Labs PCI 3D Blaster video adapter, the system hangs, or does not complete POST when hardware acceleration is set to "Full" under display properties.
PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:
This tip applies, but is not limited to the following machine types:
IBM IntelliStation E-Pro Series 6893 systems
IBM PC300PL Series 6862/6892 systems
IBM PC300GL Series 6275/6285 systems
FIX:
Download and install 3D Blaster PCI BIOS update v1.10.03.03 (or most current) from the Creative Labs Internet URL:
File Name: 3DPB03P3.EXE
Description: 3D Blaster PCI BIOS Upgrade to v1.10.03.03 3DBP-PBIOS-1-US (Revision 2)
1. Solves Speedy3D DOS games (like Tomb Raider and Scorched Planet) problems under native DOS and EMM386 on certain machines.
2. Includes updated VTOOL.EXE to support this BIOS revision.
3. This release requires Rev 3 drivers (3dpw95up.exe)
