TP 380,385,560x,600,770 - Windows Protection Error with system.cb and CardWork

Applicable to: World-Wide

Symptom:
A Windows Protection Error occurs while using the system.cb file with the original config.sys, autoexec.bat, and win.ini files.

Configuration:
This occurs on any Think Pad that has CardWorks installed.

Solution:
To fix this, you must add the following two lines to the windows\system.cb in the [386Enh] section:

device=pcdisk.vxd
device=dos16m.vxd

Here is a sample of what the system.cb file should look like with the above fix and mouse support added to it.

[boot]
mouse.drv=mouse.drv
*DisplayFallback=0

[386Enh]
mouse=*vmouse, msmouse.vxd
device=pcdisk.vxd
device=dos16m.vxd

[Keyboard]
layout=kbdus.kbd
