Considerations for Windows 95
These considerations are for the 385XD that came preloaded with Windows 98 and you are going to be installing Windows 95.
o In 256 color mode in Windows 95, when you play a movie using MediaPlayer and pause it, the color of the movie is sometimes not correct. You can recover the proper color by replaying the movie.
o The color palette sometimes has strange colors when switching the display device to CRT only while in full screen playback with MediaPlayer under Windows 95.
o Playback screen is split vertically when the mouse pointer is moved around while the movie is in full screen playback with MediaPlayer in virtual screen (panning) mode under Windows 95. This is intermittent.
o When suspend is attempted with a USB camera attached, the suspend will fail and the camera will be disabled. If this happens, unplug the camera from the USB port and plug it in again. The camera will then be re-enabled.
o When one CardBus card is already configured in the system slot or port replicator slot, the second CardBus card must be configured using the system icon in Control Panel. The second CardBus card cannot be configured automatically.
o Remote power off is not complete at "Please wait while your computer shuts down" screen during standby state (Fn + F3 or so on).
o If CardBus card is in use, no other PCMCIA card may be hot plugged.
o A newly inserted CardBus PC card may not be recognized correctly by Windows 95 (Windows 95 may mistake it for a previously installed CardBus PC card), if this happens, do the following:
1. Open "My Computer," "Control Panel," and then "System" folder.
2. Click on the Device Manager Tab.
3. Select the device that is no longer being used.
4. Remove it.
5. Restart the system.
o CardWorks does not work on Windows 95 OSR0.
o If "TDK Network Flyer CardBus LAN Adapter" (TDK 100Base CardBus Card) is used in the ThinkPad Enhanced Pot Replicator CardBus slot, the properties need to be changed as follows:
1. Open "Control Panel."
2. Open "Network."
3. Select "TDK Network Flyer CardBus LAN Adapter" in installed network components list.
4. Then click "Property", the TDK LAN adapter property Box will appear.
5. Click "Advanced."
6. Select "Burst Length" in Property.
7. Change Value to 4 DWORD.
8. Click "OK."
9. Click "OK" again.
10. Restart computer.
