PCServer704 - Auto ISA 16/4 adapter unable to insert into ring

SYMPTOM:
Error - Unable to insert into ring.
Error - Unable to find adapter.
RESOLUTION:
If using SCO 5.00, install and apply the following:
- Release Supplement D
- Network Supplement 1.0.0
- Advanced Hardware Supplement 5.2
- TCP/IP Supplement OSS449A (available in /SLS directory of the SCO BBS)
Complete the following tasks:
1. Boot the SCU disk.
a) Select Option #2, Install/setup an ISA Configuration for a network adapter.
b) IRQ and memory addresses can be changed after you run LANAid.
c) Insert the ISA configuration into the correct EISA slot.
d) Save and exit.
2. Boot the LANAid disk.
a) Configure the adapter to the predetermined settings.
b) Save and exit.
3. Boot the SCU disk, select Option #3, and choose one of the following:
a) Change/edit the settings currently defined for the adapter to match LANAid settings, OR
b) Remove the current configuration - if you choose this option, you must return to Option #2 and re-create a new ISA
configuration for the 16/4 adapter, giving it the settings from LANAid.
4. Select Option #3, Select system board.
a) Page down to ISA ROM SHADOW settings and disable the ROM and RAM memory ranges for the 16/4 adapter.
