IBM 3153 ASCII Terminal Display - Displays double characters

Applicable to: World-Wide

Symptom:
When a alphanumeric key is pressed, the 3153 displays the alphanumeric character twice.

Background Information:
When the 3153 is configured for 'Half Duplex' or 'Local' Mode, and an alphanumeric key is pressed, the 3153 sends the character to the host, which echo's (sends back to the 3153) the character back to the 3153. This causes the character to display. Simultaneously, the 'Half Duplex' mode causes the 3153 to locally display the same character. This results in
two characters to be displayed.

Recommend Solution:
In 3153 setup menu, set 'Comm Mode'='Full Duplex'
