PS/1-Aptiva - I get an "Error Reading Drive A:" when I try to change to that drive
Applicable to: World-Wide
Your IBM PS/1 or Aptiva computer automatically names a DOS command prompt that displays the current "path" (i.e., the current default drive and directory). In order to display this information, your system must check for a disk each time the command prompt is displayed. If there is no disk in your floppy drive, then you will receive an error. Thus, if you change from Drive C to Drive A, DOS will look for a diskette in Drive A to determine what the current sub-directory is. Without a diskette, IBM DOS cannot determine the current directory.
To keep this error from occurring you should place a diskette in Drive A before changing the current drive. If you are running a program from a diskette, you should leave the diskette in the drive until the system returns to the Your Software screen or to the DOS prompt.
