Aptiva - How to insert/delete a blank line between footnotes in Microsoft Works

In Microsoft Works you cannot insert a blank line above a footnote by placing the cursor under the footnote number and pressing ENTER. Rather, to insert a blank line above a footnote, position the cursor at the end of the line above where the extra line is desired, and press ENTER.
For example, suppose you want a blank line between the following footnotes:
1 [footnote1]
2 [footnote2]
Position the cursor at the end of footnote 1 and press ENTER.
To remove a blank line above a footnote, either position the cursor on the blank line and press BACKSPACE, or place the cursor at the end of the line above the blank line and press DEL. Positioning the cursor on the blank line and pressing DEL will not erase the line.
For example, suppose you want to remove the blank line from between the following footnotes:
1 [footnote1]
2 [footnote2]
Either position the cursor between 1 and 2 and press BACKSPACE, or move the cursor to the end of footnote 1 and press DELETE.
