Netfinity 7000 M10 - ADSM for OS/2 does not work with AIC-7895 SCSI controller

Symptom
Adstar Distributed Strorage Manager (ADSM) for OS/2 will hang the system if the on-board SCSI controller (AIC-7895) is used to connect to a tape drive.
This is a common symptom on the following tape drives:
Seagate (P/N 01K1325, 76H0485)
Quantum DLT 7000 (P/N 01K1174)
Quantum DLT 4000 (P/N 01K1320)
DDS3
Resolution
Install the latest version of the Adaptec device driver for OS/2. The old and new device drivers are shown below:
