TP 770E/ED - POST 163/173 errors after changing the configuration
Applicable to: EMEA
Symptom:
Every so often, but especially after moving the ThinkPad, the POST 163/173 error message will come up.
Solution:
Some planars have been built with too much solder under the RTC battery holder, causing the battery to sit higher than normal. Slight pressure on the memory door will short the battery. Fix is to apply tape to the inside of the memory door, under the RTC battery location.
