Aptiva - "HIMEM.SYS file missing" error in Windows 95

Symptom:
You are getting an error saying that the HIMEM.SYS file is missing after you install Norton Utilities.
Resolution:
Turn the computer off completely and wait 30 seconds before turning it back on. While it is off, unplug the keyboard and plug it back in. If the problem is not resolved, add the following line to the top of the AUTOEXEC.BAT file:
SET DOS16M=2
If this does not help, you will need to contact the software manufacturer for additional suggestions. Most of the cases seen so far appear to involve Norton software products (Norton Utilities, etc.). If you have installed a Norton product, please contact Norton to see if they have any updates to their programs.
