Aptiva - Problems with 2168-M91 machines and G200 monitors
Applicable to: United States
Subject:
G200 Users of M91 Machines
There may be problems with M91's that come with G200 monitors. The recovery CD does not contain the C:\MATROX directory. That means that it is necessary to save the Matrox directory to diskette (it will fit on a 1.44mb floppy) BEFORE an Fdisk Format and Recovery. If you do not save the Matrox directory it will not be unzipped from the CD and the system will experience DDC errors. A temporary work around, is to turn off DDC on the monitor, if you do not backup C:\MATROX to diskette.
Installing other video drivers may also cause the Matrox drivers to go corrupt. If there have been changes made to the
system you will need to download current and non corrupted drivers.
