Aptiva - Installing fonts in Microsoft Works 4.0

All font files that are available in Microsoft Works (or any Microsoft application that features any sort of wordprocessor) consist of the fonts installed in the Windows 95 font folder. Not all font files found elsewhere on the harddrive may have been installed into the Windows Fonts folder. In order to add other fonts:
1. Click on Start
2. Click on Settings
3. Click on Control Panel
4. Click on the Fonts icon
5. Click on File
6. Click on Install New Font
This will present the window where all of the work is done in adding or removing fonts. There are some extra fonts in the Windows\System folder that may not already be installed into the useable fonts area in Windows 95.
Here's how to add them:
1. Double-click on the C: folder
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the new list and open the Windows folder (not the Windows.000 folder)
3. Open the System folder (you may now see extra font files that were not listed in the MS Works fonts menu
4. Click on the "Select All" button
5. Click on Ok
6. For any font found that is already installed in Windows 95, a message will appear stating so - just click on Ok to continue
7. Once all of the uninstalled fonts have been selected and installed, the Fonts window will list more font icons than it previously contained.
The next time Microsoft Works is started, the font list will contain any new fonts that were added. If you want to add more fonts, you can do so from either a diskette or CD that features TrueType fonts by using the same steps as above. However, instead of selecting the C: folder in the Fonts window as the source of new fonts, select the A: folder if installing from a diskette or select the appropriate drive folder icon that represents the CD ROM drive.
