Print these instructions or display them on another computer. 2. Firmly connect the AC adapter to the computer. 3. Insert the System Program Service Diskette into the diskette drive and turn on the computer. 4. When prompted press the '1' key to update the system program. Warning: Do not turn off the computer until the update has been completed. IF YOU TURN OFF THE COMPUTER WHILE THE UPDATE IS STILL IN PROGRESS, THE SYSTEM BOARD MAY HAVE TO BE REPLACED. System Program Information Each version of the System Program Service Diskette contains the following system BIOS program. Diskette BIOS Version Version 1.03 V1.0 R00-F4 1.05 V1.0 R00-G2 The BIOS Version can be viewed by selecting "System Board" at "Config" in the "IBM BIOS Setup Utility" menu. Summary of Changes v1.03 - (New) Initial release for ThinkPad 390E v1.05 - (Fix) The system can hang if the AC adapter is attached/detached while hibernation is processing. - (Fix) After making a modification using the IBM BIOS Setup Utility, the system may not recognize an IBM Turbo 16/4 Token-Ring PC Card. - (Fix) If the power is off at IBM BIOS Setup Utility, Wake on LAN function does not work. - (Fix) (Windows 95) The system without the internal MODEM can't recognize the EtherJet in the Port Replicator with Advanced EtherJet Feature at warm docking. - (Fix) (Windows 98) If the TrackPoint is disabled in IBM BIOS Setup Utility, the serial mouse doesn't work during Windows 98 installation. - (Fix) (Windows 95 Japanese) The system may hang when Fn key function is used. - (Fix) (PC-DOS 2000 Japanese) The system can't enter suspend and hibernation mode whenCardSoft software is installed. - (Fix) (Windows 95 Chinese) The system does not turn off the LCD screen when Fn + F3 keys are depressed. - The default setting of HV Expansion option in IBM BIOS Setup Utility is changed from 'Off' to 'On'. So the video is expanded to fill the whole LCD screen.
