TP General - Which MindPath remote controls will operate with a ThinkPad

SYMPTOM:
Having difficulty getting MindPath remote to work with an Infrared equipped ThinkPad.
CONFIGURATION:
Any ThinkPad using the MindPath remote control and software program.
SOLUTION:
Mind Path markets several models of the remote control; some of which will not operate with your Thinkpad. Listed below are three Mind Path Remote controls and how to identify them.
.IR50 - look at front of remote, it will be labeled 'Mind Path'
.IR55 - look at front of remote, it will be labeled 'Mind Path IR55'
.IR90 - larger and more rectangular than other models
The Mind Path Model IR55 is shipped with our ThinkPad (755CDV) and is the model customers should order if they want to use the remote feature with other ThinkPad models using the built in infrared (ie., 760CD).
The IR50 is used with the 'MIND PATH EXTERNAL RECEIVER', this is a separate unit that plugs into the serial port of a mobile or desktop. The IR50 is not compatible with the built-in infrared port on our ThinkPads. The IR55 can be programmed to support either the external or internal ThinkPad infrared port.
Note: The 755CD and 760CD Select A System Preloads, and the Windows 95 preload includes Mind Path software.
Note: While the following machines have INFRARED Capability, only the 755CDV and CV included the Mindpath remote control
