Windows 95 Considerations
o Remote shut down operation during standby state in Windows 95 via the network management software hangs while showing the screen, "Please wait while your
computer shuts down". To avoid this situation, use AC adapter and set the standby and suspend timer to 0 by ThinkPad Configuration program.
o LDCM is unable to manage clients via the remote LDCM interface after the machine has suspended (or hibernated) and then resumed. Boot the client to recover
from this situation.
o If a CardBus card is in use, other PCMCIA cards may not be recognized when hot plugged. This problem depends on the design of the PC card driver.
o When one CardBus card is already configured in a system slot or Port Replicator slot, a second CardBus card must be configured with the system icon in
Control Panel. The second CardBus card can not be configured automatically.
o CardWorks does not work on the shrink wrap version of Windows 95(OSR0). Instead, the native PC Card driver is to be used on the shrink wrap version of
Windows 95.
o When USB is disabled/enabled by Windows 95 Device Manager, the system needs to be restarted. If the system is not restarted, suspension/hibernation may
cause the system to hang or halt.
o When a suspend operation is attempted on a system with an Intel USB camera attached, the suspend fails and the camera is disabled. If this happens, unplug the
camera from the USB port and plug it in again. The camera will be re-enabled.
o In 256 color mode in Windows 95, when you play a movie using MediaPlayer and pause it, the color of the movie is sometimes not correct. You can recover it by
replaying the movie.
o Playback screen becomes strange color palette when switching display device to CRT only while full screen playback with MediaPlayer under Windows 95.
o Playback screen is split vertically when mouse pointer is moved around while movie full screen playback with MediaPlayer in virtual screen (panning mode under
Windows 95.
o If 'TDK Network Flyer CardBus LAN Adapter' (TDK 100Base CardBus Card) is used in the ThinkPad Enhanced Port Replicator CardBus slot, the properties
need to be changed as follows:
1. Open 'Control Panel'
2. Open 'Network'
3. Select 'TDK Network Flyer CardBus LAN Adapter' in installed network components list
4. Then click 'Property', so TDK LAN Adapter property Box will appear
5. Click 'Advanced'
6. Select 'Burst Length' in Property
7. Change value to 4 DWORD
8. Click 'OK'
9. Click 'OK'
10. Restart computer
