Aptiva - WAIL32.DLL error in Activision games
Applicable to: United States
Problem:
Incompatible DirectX drivers or lack of DirectX support.
Symptom:
In Zork Nemesis, SpyCraft, and Mech Warrior 2, an error can occur that reads " Invalid Page Fault Error in Module WAIL32.DLL at0137:2000ald0 "
Sometimes the address can read 014f:2000ald0.
Lockup will usually occur in training mission.
In SpyCraft, and Zork Nemesis a complete lockup may occur.
Solution:
For MechWarrior 2 download a patch from ActiVision at the following web site:
http://www.activision.com/.
WARNING: Do not use this patch file for systems bundled with Mech Warrior 2 such as Cxx Systems and Sxx systems!
NOTE: IBM does not support this patch. However, IBM has found this patch to usually work for most customers.
