PS/1-Aptiva - Formula to increment months in Microsoft Works

In the Microsoft Works Spreadsheet, you can fill down a date that will increment by one month, using the following formulas:

1. Select a range of cells where the dates will appear.

2. From the Format menu, choose Set Cell Attributes.

3. Select Date and click OK.

4. In cell A1, enter the following formula: =Date(Year(Now()),Month(Now()),1)

5. In cell A2, enter the following formula as one line and withoutspaces:=Date(Year(A1)+Int(Month(A1)/12),Mod(MMonth(A1),12)+1,1)

6. Select cell A2 and the vertical range of cells that will include the consecutive dates.

7. From the Edit menu, choose Fill Down.

Works fills down a date in each cell, with each subsequent cell being updated by one month.

For example, if cell A1 returns 1/1/91, cell A2 will return 2/1/91. At the end of 12 months, the year will be updated from 12/1/91 to 1/1/92.

This formula can be modified to increment any number of days or months. For example, the formula "Mod(Month(A1),12)+3" increments a date by three months instead of by one month.
