PS/1 - Creating Utility Disks for PS/1 x76 Models
Applicable to: United States
To create Utility Diskettes for the PS/1 x76, you will need two High Density diskettes (2MB).
- From the OS/2 Workplace Shell (Desktop), open the WELCOME Folder.
- Open the Configuration Tools Folder by double-clicking on it.
- Select Create Utility Diskettes.
- This will format the diskettes, make them bootable by copying the OS/2 system files to them, and copy other necessary files just as a DOS Recovery disk would.
- These necessary files include:
BACKUP.EXE
RESTORE.EXE
FORMAT.COM
FDISK.COM
CHKDSK.COM
OS2CHAR.DLL
and 15 other very important DLL files.
Directory listings of Utility Disks 1 and 2 are located in this section of the Answer Bank.
