Aptiva G Series Monitors - Small and/or distorted image at 85HZ
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom:
Aptiva 382, 392 (and any future models with SL-A-2 planars) G41, G50, G70 monitor (manufactured between Sept. 95 and mid June 96.)
When the above configuration is being used, and the video vertical refresh rate is changed to 85Hz, the image will appear small and/or distorted.
Fix:
(The VESA standard timings were only finalised in October 95. Due to an error, the timings used in manufacturing these monitors were not updated, hence the monitors do not correctly display the image. There is no customer-installable update to alter these timings.)
To overcome this problem, adjust the image to fill the screen correctly, then leave the monitor controls for 5 seconds. This mode will now be stored as a user mode.
Unless the user adjusts many other modes, this user mode for 85Hz will be stored and used on each subsequent occasion that 85Hz output is selected.
