TP General - How to install the Keyboard/Mouse cable
Applicable to: World-Wide
How to attach the keyboard/mouse cable to your ThinkPad.
Most IBM ThinkPads have a PS/2 Mouse port that can also be used to attach an external keyboard. To attach a keyboard to this port, you must purchase the keyboard/mouse connector cable.
To use the cable, simply connect it to the PS/2 Mouse port. The other end of the cable has two ports, one for a mouse, the other for a keyboard. Both of the connections are identified by a symbol on them. A picture of a Mouse identifies the mouse port and a keyboard identifies the other.
Note that on the 365 systems, only models 2E9, 2R9, 3E9, 3R9, 6E7, 7E7 require the cable.
