Aptiva - Hyperterminal errors when calling a BBS

When trying to set up an entry in Hyperterminal to call a BBS, occasionally numbers that you enter will give an "invalid characters entered" (even though no spaces or special symbols are entered). The solution is to enter your area code in Control Panel/Modems/Dialing Properties.
