This patch is intended to fix the following problem:
When a Hayes modem initiates a call to TP 600/770 series machine, the ACP Modem can not receive a large file from the Hayes Optima 28.8 modem using Z-modem with the V.42 V.42bis protocol. For more information on this symptom, click here ().
This patch is intended for limited distribution to IBM customers. It has received only limited testing before release by IBM, therefore
it is suggested that any critical data on your hard drive be backed up before applying it. This patch will become obsolete with the next release of ThinkPad ACP modem code.
PATCH SCOPE
This patch is intended for ThinkPad ACP modem version 2.35, 2.35a, 2.36, 2.50, or 2.60 running under Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.0.

PREREQUISITES
For Windows 95 or Windows 98, ThinkPad ACP Modem version 2.35, 2.35a, 2.36, 2.50, or 2.60 must be loaded on your computer.
For Windows NT 4.0, ThinkPad ACP Modem version 2.35a, 2.50, or 2.60 must be loaded on your computer.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Download the file into a temporary directory on your hard drive.
2. Extract the file by double-clicking on the file.
3. Click on Start --> Run.
2. Type x:\<path>\install.exe and click on OK (where x:\<path> is the path where the files were extracted to. The default extraction path is c:\drivers\w9x\acppatch).
3. Install will locate all of the modem software, and copy over the necessary file updates.
4. Reboot the system for the patch to take effect. |
