Aptiva - Various problems with Windows Sound System
Applicable to: United States
Sound System Diagnostic Process:
- Open the "Multimedia Utilities" or "Aria Multimedia" icon group.
- Next, double click on the "Mixmaster" icon.
- Click on the word 'display' from the top of the window and from the menu that drops down, ensure that
every setting has a check mark next to it.
- Once this is confirmed press the ESCAPE key one time.
- Now locate the microphone setting and ensure that the MUTE setting is NOT checked!
- Also raise the volume about 3/4 of the way from the top of the control.
- Click on FILE and then EXIT.
- Enter Voice Pilot (it's under the Windows Sound System group)
- Begin "training" the program. Is your voice being registered when you speak into the microphone?
- If this doesn't work, please call the PC HelpCenter at (800) 772-2227 and have the microphone diagnosed for a hardware
defect.
