The standard IDE controller interface should support any standard IDE device. Some enhanced IDE (EIDE) devices, namely hard drive larger than 528 MB, may be able to function with the use of disk overlay software. This software is normally supplied by the drive manufacturer or by installing an EIDE controller with it's own BIOS. However, neither is support by IBM. Although EIDE CD-ROM's are not supported on this machine, a CD-ROM with it's own ISA interface controller may work. Any ISA adapter (CD-ROM controller, modem, SCSI card, etc.) added to this system needs to be non- "Plug and Play" to help insure compatibility. All of these options assume you have sufficient room inside your case (slots and/or drive bays). Please check this before purchasing any options. It is also advisable to check with the option's manufacturer as to the minimum system requirements for their product.
