TP 365C/CS/CD/CSD/E/ED - PCMCIA cards not working in OS/2 Warp after BIOS update
Applicable to: World-Wide
SYMPTOM:
PCMCIA cards not working in the ThinkPad after updating the BIOS.
CONFIGURATION:
Any ThinkPad 365C/CS/CD/CSD/E/ED running OS/2 Warp.
SOLUTION:
There are now 2 possible memory maps for 365s, one with BIOS 1.xxx and one with BIOS 2.xxx. These different BIOS revisions have different resources that need to be set aside in OS/2. The following are how the BASEDEV line should read in the config.sys file for OS/2 depending on your bios version:
BIOS 2.0.10 or later use the following:
BASEDEV=RESERVE.SYS /MEM:C600,2000
BIOS is 1.03 then the basedev statement should be:
BASEDEV=RESERVE.SYS /MEM:CA00,6000
