TP General - How to determine if your modem is using standard resources

How to determine if your modem is configured with standard resources under Windows 95/98.

First you must know what the standard resources are:

Standard Com Port Resources:
COM IRQ I/O
1 4 03F8
2 3 02F8
3 4 03E8
4 3 02E8

Now you want to check the configuration you are using for your modem.

1. Turn on the ThinkPad and start Windows 95/98.
2. Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.
3. Double-click on the System icon.
4. Click on the Device Manager tab.
5. Click on the + (plus) next to Modem.
6. Double-click on the modem you are working.
7. Click on the Resource tab.
8. View the resources being used and determine wether they are standard or not.
