IBM IntelliStation M Pro (Type 6889, 6897) - Windows 95 does not boot normally with SCSI hard file

SYMPTOM:
After installing Windows 95 and restarting the system, Windows 95 will only boot into Safe Mode.
PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:
This tip applies to IBM IntelliStation M Pro Series 6889 systems equipped with a SCSI hard file and installed with Windows 95.
FIX:
Install the correct level Adaptec SCSI device drivers from the "7800 Family Manager Set" diskette supplied with the system.
1. Right click on My Computer, click Properties.
2. Click Device Manager, then open SCSI Controllers.
3. Click on Adaptec 2940U/UW Dual/AHA-394x AU/AUW PCI SCSI.
4. Click Properties, then Update Driver.
5. Click on No, then click Next.
6. Click Show all hardware. In the right window, look for Adaptec AIC-789x based PCI SCSI Controller.
7. Click Finish
8. Windows 95 willl prompt for the drivers diskette.
9. Insert the "7800 Family Manager Set" diskette supplied with the system.
10. In the drive Window type "A:\Win95" and press <Enter> to complete the driver installation.
