Modems - Slow or unstable modem connection (EMEA only)
Applicable to: EMEA
Problem :
The modem can only reach speed of 19.200 or at best 21.600 Bps.
Explanation:
If a Beocom 1000 phone is attached to the phone line the Beocom 1000 phone is interfering with the modem. Beocom 1000 phones were produced from 1987-1989. They constantly drain power from the phone line, which interfers with the modem signals.
Fix :
As a workaround you can disconnect the phone while using a modem. B&O, the manufacturer of the phone, has a fix that is available for a fee.
