Aptiva - Removing OS/2 Warp version 3.0 from a system

OS/2 WARP version 3.0 introduced a new command, OSDELETE. Use this command if you wish to remove OS/2 Warp from your system.
OSDELETE provides a two step process for removing OS/2 from your system. First, it will remove the bulk of OS/2 minus the hidden files. Second, you will have to remove the hidden files individually.
To view the hidden files type the following from a command prompt: C:\ DIR *.* /AH /S /P
This will show you all the files on the C drive that are hidden in every subdirectory a page at a time. There may be OS/2 files that are hidden in the subdirectory level. Such files are dependent upon what you have installed in addition to the operating system. But most of the OS/2 hidden files will be located in the root directory. Those files are listed below.
OS2BOOT
OS2DUMP
OS2KRNL
OS2LDR
OS2LDR.MSG
OS2LOGO
OS2VER
WP ROOT. SF
Because these files are hidden, you will have to take the hidden attribute off before you can delete them. Use the ATTRIB command to remove system, hidden and read-only attributes. For example, C:\> ATTRIB OS2BOOT -S -H -R
Now you may view the file using the DIR command to verify that it is no longer hidden. Use the DELETE command to then remove the file from your hard drive. To delete OS/2 files that contain blank spaces, replace the blank space with a question mark. For example, to delete WP ROOT. SF type the following at a command prompt. C:\> DEL WP?ROOT.?SF
