Color Flatbed Scanner - Configuring the scan button

Applicable to: World-Wide

Note:
Setting up the Scan Button Function only applies to Windows 95 and Windows NT users.

The scan button is the blue button located on the top of the scanner in the bottom left corner.

The scan button has two functions:
1. Turns on the scanning lamp
2. Opens an assigned application.

Once you have installed your software, you will have two new icons on the Windows desktop: "Scan Button Setup" and "Scan Button". The "Scan Button Setup" dialog enables you to associate an application to the scan button. Once an application is defined, pressing the scan button on the scanner (or double clicking on the "Scan Button" icon) will open the associated application.

The installation defaults associate Xerox Pagis SE to the scan button.

To create or change an association to the scan button:

1. Double-click on the "Scan Button Setup" icon to open the Setup Button dialog box.

2. Select the Program Group from the Group list box. The program group's applications will display within the Item field.

3. Click on the application that you want associated to the scan button.

4. Click on "OK".

You are now ready to open the associated application by pressing the scan button, or by double clicking on the "Scan Button" icon.
