Aptiva - 2163/2164 Considerations - CD-R and CD-RW discs not being recognized

Description:
Certain CD-R and CD-RW discs are not recognized.
Models affected:
2163 and 2164
How to duplicate:
Load and try to access certain CD-R or CD-RW.
Root cause:
The VIDE-CDD.SYS driver has a bug in the "Device Status" command, MSCDEX command code 3 ("IOCTL Input", control block code 6 "Device Status"), which causes it to not recognize certain CD-R and CD-RW discs.
Workaround:
Make the qualified IBMIDECD.SYS device driver available via Update Connector.
