Rack/Storage Enclosures - Netfinity Rack side panels too high

Abstract: Netfinity Rack side panels too high.

Symptom:
Optional side panels do not fit correctly to Netfinity Rack.

To determine if you have good covers upon visual inspection, the measurement from the bottom of the cover to the bottom of the tab that rest on the frame must be 35mm +/- 1mm.

NOTE: If the dimension is in the 16-18mm range you have a defective cover.

Problem isolation aids:

• The system is a Netfinity Rack, Type 9306, Model 900.
• The Side Panel Kit Option is p/n94G6669 (FRU p/n76H4949).
• The side panel does not measure 35mm +/- 1mm from the bottom of the cover to the bottom of the tab that rest on the frame.

Fix:
Order new covers, FRU 76H4949 using Code "X".

Details:
IBM Quality has determined that a limited number of side panel Options for 9306-900 Racks fit improperly to the Rack assembly due to incorrect panel-to-rack latch bracket welds. All FRU Stock in Amsterdam and Mechanicsburg have been checked and are not effected.
