Network Station - NC Navigator bookmark (error) message solution
Applicable to: World-Wide
SYMPTOM:
Some customers have reported receiving the message, "Bookmarks have changed on disk. Discard your un-saved changes and reload? "
(this happens even if bookmarks are not being used). When NC Navigator is executed, a file called "lock" is created in the user directory, for example: /QIBM/UserData/NetworkStation/userid/NAV/lock . This file contains the MAC and TCP/IP address on the NS that is executing NC Navigator. This file is deleted every time you exit NC Navigator. If the user shuts down the Network Station without exiting NC Navigator, the file will not be deleted, and will cause this error message to appear. Bookmarks are suppose to be saved automatically every 600 seconds (10 minutes), this explains why the user might receive this error message many times a day.
SOLUTION:
Delete the lock file from the user directory and reboot the Network Station, example: /QIBM/UserData/NetworkStation/userid/NAV/lock .
