TP General - Changing the tone/pulse dialing option in Windows 95/98

If you need to set up your built in or optional modem for Pulse or Tone dialing, this is handled by Windows 95/98, not by the modem drivers. To make this selection, do the following:
1) Go to the Control Panel
2) Double-click Modems
3) On the GENERAL tab, there is a box labeled Dialing Properties, click on it
4) At the bottom of the How do I dial from this locationsection, there is a radio button:
Select the appropriate option for your location.
This should work for all modems that utilize TAPI (all of current IBM modems do). Some telephone applications may have their own SETUP option if they are not a TAPI compliant application. Please contact the software vendor of your communications application to determine if additional setup is required.
There are no known issues with any IBM modems not working with one dialing option and not the other. If you are having a problem, verify with your local telephone service provider that the line does support both Tone and Pulse dialing (some PBX and digital switches only support tone).
