Aptiva - 2144/2168 Reinstalling the PFS:WindowWorks program

If some part of your PFS: WindowWorks program has become corrupted, it may be necessary to reinstall the program. In order to recover, follow these steps:
1. Exit Windows completely and go to the DOS prompt.
2. Put the CD labeled "Multimedia Exploration CD" into the CD-ROM drive.
3. Type the letter of your CD-ROM drive (usually E:) and press Enter.
4. Type: CD\RECOVERY\US and press Enter.
NOTE: There is a space between the hyphen and the character preceding the hyphen in the parameters O and D in the following steps:
5. Type: PKUNZIP -O -D *.ZIP C:\ WINWORKS\*.* and press Enter.
This will reinstall the entire WINWORKS directory to your system.
6. Type: PKUNZIP -O -D *.ZIP C:\ WINDOWS\POWERUP\*.* and press Enter.
This will reinstall the entire POWERUP directory to your system. These are the files used for converting text and graphics.
7. Type: PKUNZIP -O -D *.ZIP C:\ WINDOWS\POWERALB\*.* and press Enter.
This will reinstall the entire POWERALB directory to your system. This is the album for cataloging all of the graphics.
Try your machine now before going any further.
If some part of PFS:WindowWorks still won't work, perform the next steps to copy the original WIN.INI file that came with your machine and overwrite the current file.
NOTE: You will need to reinstall any Windows programs or devices that you loaded after purchasing your machine.
8. Go back to the E:\Recovery\US Directory and Type the following:
PKUNZIP -O -D *.ZIP C:\ WINDOWS\WIN.INI
then press Enter. This will reinstall the WIN.INI file that originally came with your machine.
9. Close all Windows programs and reboot your machine.
