PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:

FIX:
This is FIX-ON-FAIL, limited to Japan only.

The Planar (FRU #93H1758 (replaced by 41L6405))n of any 8639-0Ex exhibiting screen corruption under circumstances described above should be inspected for presence of OKI Video RAMs (P/N 05H1303) soldered at position U23 and U24, as well as plug-in options (OBI 66H0238) at positions U27 and U32.

If OKI modules are found at U27 and U32, they are to be replaced with non-OKI modules. If OKI modules are found at U23 and U24, the Planar must be returned for repair. All stock of Planars and VRAM modules having OKI components will be purged from stock at Mechanicsburg and Amsterdam. The new Planar is FRU #41L6405. Option boxes containing OKI modules are marked OKI on the outside.
