Description
The Video Features Diskette for Windows 95/98 drivers:
- Improve the drawing performance on the display.
- Provide a resolution up to 1280x1024 for a CRT monitor.
- Provide various color depths: 256, 64K, or 16M for a CRT monitor.

NOTE: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard drive. It will only extract under Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT. The extraction process will NOT work with any other operating system.

Restriction

640x480 Hi Color (64K) mode is not supported on Cyber9382 with 800x600 DSTN display. (ThinkPad 560) Please do not select this mode. Otherwise the screen may become blank.

Installation Guide

For Windows 98 User
0. Install Windows 98 standard VGA.
1. Start Windows 98.
2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk.
3. Click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Display.
5. Click on the 'Setting' tab.
6. Click on the 'Advanced...' button.
7. Click on the 'Adapter' tab.
8. Click on 'Change...' button. Then Update Device Driver Wizard dialog box appears.
9. Click on 'Next>' button.
10. Select 'Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want'.
11. Click on 'Next>' button.
12. Click on 'Have Disk' button.
13. Specify the directory where the driver files are extracted.
Default path is C:\DRIVERS\W9X\DISPLAY.
Then click on 'OK' button. Then device list appears.
12. Confirm 'IBM ThinkPad(Cyberxxxx) PCI' is shown as the selection. Then click on 'OK' button.
13. Click on 'Yes' button if 'Update Driver Warning' dialog is appeared.
14. Click on 'Next' button.
15. Click on 'Finish' button.
16. Click on 'Close' button.
17. Click on 'Close' button in Display Properties dialog.
18. Windows 98 prompts you to restart the computer to make the display driver change effective.

For Windows 95 User - First Time
0. Install Windows 95 with standard VGA or standard Trident driver.
1. Boot Windows 95.
2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk.
3. Click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.
4. Double click on 'System' icon.
5. Click on 'Device Manager' tab.
6. Click on '+' mark for 'Display adapters' then appears display adapter name.
7. Click on 'Trident Super VGA', 'IBM ThinkPad(Cyber9320) VL' or 'IBM ThinkPad(Cyber9385/82) VL'.
8. Click on 'Remove' button. Click on OK button when prompted to remove the device.
9. Select 'No' when prompted to restart Windows 95.
10. Click on '+' mark for 'Other devices'.
11. Click on 'PCI VGA-Compatible Display Adapter'.
12. Click on 'Properties' button.
13. Click on 'Driver' tab and click on 'Change driver' button.
14. Select 'Display adapters' and click on 'OK' in 'Select Hardware Type' dialog box.
15. Click on 'Have Disk' button.
16. Specify the directory where the driver files are extracted.
Default path is C:\DRIVERS\W9X\DISPLAY.
Then click on 'OK' button. Then device list appears.
17. Confirm 'IBM ThinkPad(Cyberxxxx) PCI' is shown as the selection. Then click on 'OK' button.
18. Click on 'OK' button then Windows 95 copies necessary files to your hard disk.
19. Select 'Yes' when prompted to restart Windows 95 then remove the diskette from the diskette drive.

For Windows 95 User - Second Time or Later
0. Install Windows 95 with standard VGA or standard Trident driver.
1. Boot Windows 95.
2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk.
3. Click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.
4. Double click on 'Display' icon in the folder then 'Display Properties' dialog box appears.
5. Click on 'Settings' tab in the dialog box then 'Settings' sheet appears.
6. Click on 'Change Display Type...' button in the sheet then 'Change Display Type' dialog box appears.
7. Click on 'Change...' button in 'Adapter Type' field then 'Select Device' dialog box appears.
8. Click on 'Have Disk...' button in the dialog box then 'Install From Disk' dialog box appears.
10. Specify the directory where the driver files are extracted.
Default path is C:\DRIVERS\W9X\DISPLAY.
Then click on 'OK' button. Then device list appears.
11. Confirm 'IBM ThinkPad(Cyberxxxx) xx' is listed in 'Models' field and focus it then click on 'OK' button. Then Windows 95 copies necessary files to your hard disk.
12. Confirm adapter type is changed to 'IBM ThinkPad(Cyberxxxx)' then click on 'Close' button.
13. Select color depth in 'Color Palette' field and resolution in 'Desktop area' field.
14. Click on 'Close' button.
15. Click on 'Yes' button when Windows 95 prompts you to restart your system. Then Windows 95 restarts and display driver installation is completed.
