Aptiva - 2144/2168/2176 Problems recording from a CD in Audio Station
Applicable to: World-Wide
Question:
When I try to record music from a CD in Audio Station on my Aptiva nothing is recorded and the sound gets cutoff until I stop recording?
Answer:
These are the steps to record music from a CD in Audio Station on an Aptiva.
1. Start the Audio Station program.
2. The top panel should be the mixer. You can re-arrange the order, so look for the panel that has up and down sliders with
rectangle buttons on it. On the left side of the Mixer panel click on the "RECORD" button.
3. Change the Mode to CD by clicking the "CD" button. Now the Record indicator will be red and the CD indicator light will be
green.
4. Place a music CD in the drive.
5. On the Tape deck Panel press "Record" button (Small oval red circle on the panel). The panel indicator for Record will flash.
6. Find the CD Panel and press "Play".
7. Press "Play" on the Tape deck panel to begin recording.
8. There will be a brief interruption of your music as the file beings recording, and when you press Stop to end the recording.
9. When you finished recording, press the "Mic" button. This step is necessary or your Voice Type Control software will
be disabled (it will listen to the CD instead of the microphone).
10. Set the Mode back to "Play" on the Mixer panel (above the record button on the mixer).
