TP General - POINTTR and the DOCK II

Applicable to: World-Wide

When using the POINTTR.EXE with a PCMCIA adapter in the Dock II, the correct I/O address for the PCMCIA in the Dock is 03E2. To make POINTTR.EXE work, the parameters should be specified as follows:

If loaded in the CONFIG.SYS, the statement could look like this;

device=c:\pointtr.exe sa pcic=03e2 sram=c800,16 mmio=cc00 rs=16

This will setup the adapter in the top slot of the Dock II and use C800 and CC00 for the memory ranges and set the ring speed to 16MBS.

If loaded in the AUTOEXEC.BAT, the statement could look like this;

c:\pointtr.exe sb pcic=3e2 sram=d800,16 mmio=d600 rs=4

This will setup the adapter in the bottom slot of the Dock II and use D800 and D600 as the memory ranges and set the ring speed to 4MBS.

NOTE
These are general examples, you may pick elements (e.g. sa/sb, sram=, mmio=, rs=) from either for your particular situation.
If the SCSI BIOS is enabled on the Dock II, the Dock II will use DC00 for memory. Be sure to exclude this range from the EMM386.EXE line and DO NOT set the PCMCIA card to use this area.
