3270 Emulation Credit Card Adapter - Resource and setup information for DOS/Windows 3.1

This document applies to the 3270 Emulation Credit Card Adapter, Marketing P/N 0933315.
Resource Information:
Irq: 9 (fixed - hardwired on card)
Memory Address: CE00 - CFFF (memory registers to hold card info)
I/O Port Address: 2D0-2D6 (First io address used to find card location)
Adapter Configuration:
- For DOS/Win systems add exclusion to emm386.exe in config.sys for the range CE00 to CFFF (example: x=ce00-cfff)
- For OS2 systems memory exclusion is not necessary
Note:
In PCOM 4.0 and above, select Yes for PCMCIA under the configuration of coax link.
In clone laptops such as Toshibas which do not use the standard Intel PCMCIA interface chip, point enablers are provided by IBM in the 3270CSD.ZIP found on the IBM BBS. These drivers are loaded through the config.sys or from a command prompt. There is also a 3270CSD.exe which uses Card-Services Interface, release 2.00. To access these files click on this link - 
- To use point enabler all other Card & Socket services must be removed from system.
- The client enabler CS3270, enables use of hot swapping and enjoys the access to card and socket services, meaning other cards can also share the machine with it easily. However it will only work if compliant card services and socket services are loaded.
- For thinkpads, neither should be necessary, except for the TP365 which may have an incompatibility with the 3270 Credit Card Adapter because of ROM Shadowing. The latest bios for the TP365 should rectify the problem.
- For the 365, there is a bios update which can fix the C&S problems configuring the card
