Servers - Novell Netware 3.1x and 4.x Procedure For Creating A CONFIG.TXT Configuration Dump File

Follow the Network Operating System (NOS) procedure instructions provided in this document sequentially unless you are instructed differently. Windows and messages might differ from those in this document.

3.0 Detailed procedure instructions
Instructions for setting up config.txt utility on Netware servers (3.12 and 4.11):

1. Download file TABND2A.EXE from Novell's web site (refer to section 1.0).

2. Extract the file to diskette by typing:

tabnd2a.exe a:

at a command prompt and press Enter.

3. Load the config.nlm from the server console by typing

load a:\diags\config\config.nlm

and press Enter.

4. Load the CONFGNUT.NLM from the server console by typing

load a:\diags\config\confgnut.nlm

and press Enter.

5. This will bring you into the CONFGNUT Netware Loadable Module. From the menu choose config.txt info to output option, Choose 9. All of the above or 10. Items 1-6 above by pressing Enter

6. Press Enter to continue after the information was created and copied to sys:system\config.txt

7. Choose copy config.txt to c:\ by pressing Enter.

8. Press Enter to continue after config.txt was copied to c:\config.txt

9. Send the HelpCenter the config.txt file (c:\config.txt) via E-Mail or fax by one of the following means:
