Aptiva - 2138-E76 "Can not open Com Port" error

Symptom:
Customer gets error message when attempting to install the modem.

Solution:
1. Remove and reinstall the modem drivers. For directions, click here -
2. Remove the modem card.
3.Clean the modem contacts where the modem is connected to the computer bus with a pencil eraser.
4. Return the card to the computer.
