TP 760,765 - Incorrectly built hard drives - 3.0 GB
Applicable to: EMEA
SYMPTOM:
When inserting a 3.0GB HDD into a TP 760 or 765, the HDD is not recognised. When the HDD is used as a secondary HDD (with 2nd HDD adapter ) it works correctly.
CONFIGURATION:
Any ThinkPad 760 or 765 with an IBM 3.0 GB HDD installed.
SOLUTION:
The 3.0GB HDD (FRU 45H8791) should contain HDD P/N 46H6123. Some HDD however have been built with other HDD P/N's. All stockrooms have been checked (CESAL FTS98074), but if any 45H8791 happen to be out NOT containing HDD P/N 46H6123, these should be rejected.
