Physical check:
Keyboards with date codes earlier than 980603 (06/03/98) may have peeling characters or keys that stick in down stroke position when pressed.
The date code is located on the bottom side of the keyboard in the center.

Detail:
Replace the keyboard during service contact on systems with keyboard date codes earlier than 6/3/98. Systems with this type of keyboard may have keys that stick in the down position when pressed, or have degraded (peeling) keytop character markings.
Use current keyboard FRU stock to correct these conditions. All FRU stock has been purged of affected keyboards.

Replace the Keyboard using the current FRU part number containing a date code of 980603 (06/03/98) or later. All FRU stock has been purged of keyboards manufactured prior to that date.

Order all FRU parts locally, and record Time and Material to service code 33, ECA 002, and OTHER OFFICE 990.
